Dear Parents and Students,
It is so nice to be back in school! I had a nice and relaxing holiday with my family and friends.
I was awarded a $500 grant from Deer Valley Education Foundation. We will be making paper quilts to learn about perimeter and area and patterning. I'm having so much fun shopping for this unit.
I will be attending a writing conference for 4 days next week. Mrs. Kane will be substituting for me all 4 days. It will be "business as usual" in the classroom for the students. I'm sure I will come back with amazing writing activities that I will be using with my students.
Our spelling bee representative is Abel and Ashley B. is our runner up. The schoolwide spelling bee will be on Friday, January 9th.
We have a half day on Wednesday, January 14. Dismissal time is 11:35. There is no school on Monday, January 19th, for Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday.
The book celebration theme for this quarter is a nonfiction book. We will be going to the library on Thursday, January 15, so students can find their books.
If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesistate to contact me.
Thank you,
Debbie Tang
